realsmart is running slow!

We have a great server setup, so our delivery of realsmart should not be the cause of realsmart running slowly.

The main cause is a slow internet connection which can happen from time to time.

If there are continuing issues with realsmart, the most common cause is that realsmart is being cached and filtered.

What happens is that, between the computer in your school and the internet, sits a lot of things that your internet connection goes through. These could be things like Proxy servers and Firewalls.

Often, you will have a Proxy in your school AND there will also be one in your service provider (where you get your internet provision from) eg your LA or Broadband Grid.

As realsmart is a trusted source, it is safe for you to bypass these things by adding our web address to the exemptions list or something similar.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, talk to your network manager about this as there will be a process to follow to stop realsmart from being cached and filtered by Proxy servers and Firewalls. These things can cripple internet services like realsmart, and do not add anything to our service.

Simply, add the URL www.rlsmart.net to the exemptions list, clear any caches and any history of caches.

If you do this, realsmart will fly as intended.
