Using Google Picasa
January 3, 2012 in Front Page News, Google Apps by A Stringfellow
Google Picasa is a brilliant way of organising, editing and sharing images over the internet. It works in an almost identical way to Google Docs and is very simple and easy to use.
With Picasa, images are NOT stored on the computers hard drive. Instead they are stored online on your google account. This means the images become accessible from any computer and can be shared with anyone else with a google account. Along with this it offers some terrific image editing tools and is a great way of organising large quantities of images.
Google Picasa can be downloaded from it’s homepage HERE.
You can also find the official Google Picasa guide HERE.
Picasa Web Albums
You don’t have to download Picasa to create ‘web albums’. By going to http://picasaweb.google.com/ you can very easily upload and share photos from your computer.
Uploading your own albums
1. Click the upload button.
2. Use SELECT PHOTOS FROM YOUR COMPUTER to select the photos you want in your album from your hard drive. You can give your album a name in the top left corner!
3. Now all you need to do is go to MY PHOTOS, select your album, click SHARE and add some recipients and a message into this bit!
